Spring Fever
Spring is a magical time of year, and one of the reasons I love living in the Inter-mountain West.
As the biting chill of winter begins to thaw the frozen ground and the air slowly warms, we natives begin to wear flip flops and don bright colors in celebration. Even though it’s technically still cold enough to get frostbite, to us it might as well be tropical.
The pink porcelain blossoms on the trees, the greening and thickening of the grass, the snowline creeping up the foothill all seem to bring about a thawing of the heart along with them. I love snow and winter – but when I take my first breath of 65-degree air, I realize just how much winter has weighed me down.
But no more! Back, ye foul winds! Keep your distance, vile snow! Begone for another six months and good riddance! It’s April 30 and spring has arrived in northern Utah – I’ll be cold no more because of ye!
To celebrate, I think I’ll out onto our lawn, sink my winter-worn limbs into the new carpet of emerald grass and absorb some rays.
Well, that was refreshing. Isn’t spring the best?

Hehe, I’ve been wearing them for the last 3 months! And it freakin snowed 3 inches today. I guess it is our way of rebelling winter.
Ha ha, very nice. I should come over and share in the warm weather. It looks nice refreshing in that lush green grass.
P.S. Hooray Beethoven!
And you wonder if we have green grass in Star Valley?
Actually we have enough that the horses are trying to eat it, but it is a contest to see if snow, mud, or eventually sun will win out here. Love the pictures!
